Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Look what the Lord has done!
Six deaf individuals gave their testimonies at National Deaf Conference SignSpiration in Dallas TX. Thank you Margo Jarreau for the pictures and summery of that wonderful Friday night service. |
Sarah Chung
She had struggle about bible and frustration with her parents who had no communication with her and pills to stop her seizure for years. She was surprised to see Jan Epitacio being changed as new man. He and his wife invited her to church. She never heard about UPC even though she knew Jesus. She accepted baptism in the name of Jesus. They told her about Jesus who could heal her from pills. She prayed for her healing when she thanked Him. Bro. Noland called her to altar where she got Holy Ghost at Western District Conference.
She went to her doctor about the pills. He told her that she did not need pills. She was fully healed. Her night was quiet without pills. She thanked Jan,his wife, Bro. Noland and his wife for leading her to His truth. She said God was good all the time!

He fell from kitchen when he lost balance. He has blood clot in his head. He was transferred to hospital by air helicopter. God touched and healed him. He pulled IV tubing out and moved his body.
He said He was here and walked. He praised Jesus. |
Angie Galleagos
She and her fiance went to UPC. God touched her. The altar worker asked her if she wanted baptism in the name of Jesus. She said yes. Her fiance looked at her with smile while she was in baptistery. He was not baptized yet. She and he struggled when he was not close to Him. She broke up with him so she went very close to Him. She has beautiful experience in Holy Ghost. She showed them how she knelt and screamed loudly “Jesus Amen!” He quickly came to her help.

Praise the Lord everyone! This evening we baptized Joe Lane! He is an 18-year old deaf senior that goes to school with Sheila Maynard. We have prayed for a long time that he would come to church. Sheila has invited him several times over the years and finally he came about a couple months ago. He is so hungry for the Lord! We have been having a special Bible study with him and another deaf friend, Chris Mohney over the last few weeks and will continue to do so. Joe decided to get baptized tonight and we are rejoicing with him! Up until this evening, he didn't feel comfortable going to the altar, let alone raising his hands or praying out loud. From the beginning of service, there was such mighty move of the Holy Spirit. Our signing choir did "Holy Ghost Power" and my oh my....... Throughout our Praise and Worship, Joe was jumping and praising out loud! At altar call, he stepped forward, raised his hands and prayed. Thank you Jesus! He was baptized shortly after that. He told us later that when he came out of the water, he saw a bright light! You should have seen the smile that lit up his face and stayed with him for the rest of the night! Keep him in prayer that God will fill him with the Holy Spirit and use him in His kingdom. Chris has also said he would like to be baptized but hasn't yet so please keep him in your prayers as well. We are having Deaf Revival in Portage, Michigan! YAY! Hallelujah! Kim Parks

Hi all and Praise the Lord! Thank you everyone who kept Chris in prayer after my last praise report! Chris was baptized in that precious name of Jesus yesterday morning! That is two young deaf men added to our fold within one week! Hallelujah! Chris brought a deaf friend from school with him, Jack...so now, please keep HIM in prayer. It was his first ever Pentecostal service and I know he was touched. I always get so tickled when our deaf visitors, especially first-time ones, sign along with the interpreter during praise & worship. Jack is very interested in coming on a regular basis but the problem is, he lives so far away! So pray that the Lord will open up doors to get Jack to church. He needs the Lord. Chris also brought his parents and his grandparents to witness his baptism. Please continue to keep Chris and his family in prayer.
An update on Joe, the one that was just baptized a week ago, he is a different person. The love of God is all over him and he is on fire! He has a younger deaf cousin that he is now trying to get to church. He talked to his aunt about getting his cousin to church and she seems open to the idea, so we'll see. This little guy's name is Dylan. He has a serious medical issue. Now, I know that the Lord can provide a miracle and heal this precious little boy (he's 8 and has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen). Even if Dylan never comes, please keep him in prayer. God is doing wonderful things here in Portage, Michigan! God bless you all! I will try and get a picture up on deafevangelism.com soon!

Praise the Lord! I just wanted to let you know we have started to show the Deaf in Delaware and New Jersey the new Exploring God’s Word Bible study that Bro. Murillo is teaching and the Deaf here are just overwhelmed!
They are so excited – with just one lesson!! Sis. Killingsworth in New Jersey said she had to continue to show the next lesson because her group was so interested.
Thank you so much for making this resource available. There will be a great harvest won to the Lord because of it, and His Word being taught in such an awesome manner!!
Thank you Bro. & Sis Murillo for your dedication and sacrifices to this ministry!!

Originally we were only doing Deaf Church once a month. About 2 months ago I felt lead to start having it weekly and so we have – Sunday mornings from 10:00-11:00 AM. It was taking us so long to go through the Bible study so I knew this would be a great help in that regard.
Susan was baptized on November 2 – it just so happened our next lesson was on the Holy Ghost (Lesson 8). I just battled last Sunday morning (November 16) with different things I felt in my Spirit – trying to get things ready for church, I had been up since about 3:30 AM – tired physically, etc. I just had that feeling something good was going to happen and the battle was on. Our church has started a new program called “Defining Moment”. We are spiritually moving to a new level (powerful services lately), and there has been a whole new freedom in the Spirit, so the devil is not happy.
Altar service came and Susan again went to the altar, but there was a whole new freedom in her worship which has been building for weeks. As she started to worship you could just see the Holy Ghost all over her face and within minutes was marvelously filled with the Holy Ghost. Her face lit up like a Christmas tree! She just started jumping up and down like a little kid who had been given the best gift for Christmas. Her coming to the Lord has been such a blessing to Kathy Meyers who has been coming for about 15 years with no other deaf people. We are now watching Kathy help to establish Susan, and what a joy it has been to see what the Lord is doing.

We will be finished with the series of Exploring God’s Word on December 14th, and then Susan will be moving into a course we offer new converts called Abundant Life. It truly will be an amazing 2009 to see what doors the Lord will open for Susan, and the Deaf Ministry here in Dover.
Thanks again to you (Bro. Hanscom, Bro. & Sis. Murillo, Sherry, Pat) for your prayers and the work you are doing. Another soul has been won to kingdom for such a time as this!

10/03/09 I met my friend, Tasha Davis, on the video phone. She invited me to go to church with her at the Pentecostals of Alexandria. I felt my need for God in my life. I went to Sunday School with Tasha. I had never heard of the Holy Ghost. I am baptized in Jesus name and I feel better, happy now, and feel peace. I am thankful for Tasha inviting me to church.

The "Fathers Blessing" by Jennifer Jones -Atlanta GA
Back in February of 2007 I had cleaned up my book shelf and some of the books that needed to discard. A book entitled "My Father's Blessing" caught my attention and I begun to read it. That had impacted me greatly because it is about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit which I had never heard before. That had made me so hungry and thirsty for God. I actually studied it for about a month.
Then I decided to start looking on the web for any Deaf people who have the Holy Ghost in the Atlanta GA area where I live. But I couldn't find any. The majority of deaf people in Georgia is Southern Baptists which I was raised.
I decided to search on a national level in hoping to find one. There I found a web page called Deaf Evangelism. I decided to send my email to Sherry Padgett. She had responded to my email by witnessing to me about the gospel in which I had never heard before. That had led me to search more for the truth while I was still hungry and thirsty for God. Sherry had connected me to two interpreters in GA at Atlanta West Pentecostal Church, Pam Nixon and Margie.
I went there on Easter Sunday for the first time. The first thing I asked my interpreters was about any Deaf people who have the Holy Ghost attending this church. They said no So I continued visiting that church for a while because I was responsible as a Deaf Ministry leader in my Baptist church. I prayed for the Holy Ghost on July 08, 2007 and felt the Holy Ghost for the FIRST TIME. I didn't yet know how to give myself to worship.
On July 15, 2007 I finally, I decided to go ahead to be baptized in Jesus Name at Atlanta West Pentecostal Church.
Sherry had shared with me about attending National Deaf Conference in Texas that took place in July. I had been wanting to go there since I had a desire to meet Deaf Pentecostals. So I went there with Pam Nixon from the church and it was our first time attending a National Deaf Conference.
While attending the conference, I had struggled to understand clearly about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Two men came to my rescue and told me to close my eyes and pray to receive the Holy Ghost. Finally, I got it - speaking in the tongues without interruption meaning that it came into my heart right there. Praise the Lord! I finally got the Holy Ghost with speaking in tongues. Suddenly, I jump joyfully after that. That took place on Friday, July 27th, 2007.
Let me tell that 2007 National Deaf Evangelism Conference had changed my life dramatically. I have not been the same since. I had decided to resign as a Deaf Ministry Leader from my Baptist church. Going forward, I start attending a Pentecostal church. To God be the Glory!
Pam Nixion was appointed Deaf Ministry Coordinator for my NEW church on Nov 19th, 2007. I continued to learn many new things from the Bible as Pam and others taught me Bible studies. I have a hunger to know what the Bible says.
In Feb - March of 2008 we had a sign language
class at our church. We had 33 who were eager to learn. I am happy 29 finnished the class. The last night of our sing language class we had a social dinner.
Now we have 4 who are learning to interpret in church. My heavenly father is blessing me with a wonderful church family.
May 3rd, 2008 DeafNation Expo came to Atlanta GA. My church decided to have a booth. We raised the money and Pam got a group of us got together to work the booth.
We reached out to about 3,900 Deaf who came to the Expo with a 12 min DVD video that explained Acts 2:38 from a Deaf preacher named Curtis Noland.
It was a GREAT experience sharing the Gospel to Deaf people who have never heard about the Holy Ghost.
 |
Danny Golden, a direct result of the DeafNation Expo booth. Danny has a Pentecostal background, but hasn't been to church in 2 years. He works for Flowers Bakery. The president (Gary Boyd) of the plant also attends AWPC and was there to pray with Danny. Danny loved the church and says he wants to attend every Sunday. Danny experienced a refilling of the "Fathers Blessing" and faithfully attends church.
Dec 6, 2008: There is a deaf friend of Danny who just learned about the new birth experience recently. His name is Phillip Royston and he is a Baptist. Danny has been witnessing to him over the VP for a while and then he invited him to come to our church last Sunday. (I was not there that day due not feeling well.) I was told that Phillip had been baptized in Jesus name last Sunday morning. I was also told that another deaf man visiting our church that day and he told Danny that he hopes to come back again soon. His name is Charles. We pray that he will also have a new birth experience of the "Fathers Blessing".
 |
Now back to Phillip... Things took place last night when he started receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost which is evidence with speaking of tongues. I was asked to help Phillip how to receiving the Holy Ghost during the altar call. Amazing, nearly everyone came to pray with him. I explained to him that all he needs to do is to pray using his voice when receiving the Holy Ghost. What a night it was. And what an awesome God we serve. To God be the Glory....for another soul who has experienced the "Fathers Blessing".

Deaf Ministry - Tampa, FL ( Calvary Tabernalce - Pastor Wolfe)
GOD is doing some WONDERFUL things with the Deaf Ministry here in Tampa FL. On July 16, 2008, I started teaching Sign me the Truth Bible Study on Wednesday nights with Michael Johnson (a Deaf man... who has since moved to Jacksonville, FL). On August 13th, my dear friend Darlene Clark who also is Deaf, joined the Bible Study.
On Friday night (Aug. 22nd) our church was hosting the Section 5 Back to School Rally. I invited 2 Deaf young ladies ( Mercedes Paremore and Tiera Stilling) to the service and one of those ladies (Tiera) invited a friend of hers Princess. It was a power packed Holy Ghost service and during altar call 2 of the 3 young ladies received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost (Mercedes Paremore and Princess Williams). Mercedes (Deaf )...who at this time had known for about 6 months to 1 year from the silent dinner at the mall )...and Tiera Stillings (Deaf)...whom I meet on Aug. 12th, 2008. A friend of mine told me that a family had moved into their neighborhood who had a deaf daughter. So, I knocked on the door introduced myself to her parents then invited Tiera to the Wednesday night Bible Study. Tiera agreed to start on Aug. 20th, 2008. Tiera invited one of her friends Princess Williams ( hard-of-hearing...whom I met for the very first time on Aug. 22nd).
During the Christmas holiday, Princess saw and invited one of her old friends Tielania Walker (hard-of-hearing) to the Bible Study which started attending the Bible Study on Jan. 7th, 2009.
On Feb. 6th - 8th, all of us along with another interpreter attended the Annual Deaf Revival/Annual Interpreter's Workshop held in Palm Bay, FL at the First Pentecostal Church (Pastor David Myers). The entire weekend was full with a Awesome presents of the Lord followed by inspiring testimonies. To my surprise the highlight of the weekend was yet to come. On Sunday morning, Bro. Meloy Richmond...from Greenville MS. was scheduled to preach. The altar was open for anyone that needed a healing touch from the Lord or for any other situation that needed to be given by God. The Holy Ghost fell so strong and everyone was worshiping and praising God, during this AWESOME move of the Holy Ghost Tiera received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. So that brings the count up to 3 of the ladies that has received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Hi,
Here is a picture of my friend Denise Clark just after she was baptised this morning. She is a deaf lady who has been coming to our church with her friend Bev who is also deaf. It was so exciting to see her being baptised. Bev and I are praying that this is the break through we have been praying for years for in the deaf community.Bev has been serving the Lord for several years now and in our area has been the only one all this time. Please help us pray for a revival in the deaf community.
God bless you,

How To Be Saved |

Kristina Franklin While attending an in-depth training (R.E.I.S.E.T.) for MO rural interpreters for the deaf at William Woods University in Fulton, I met a young lady named Kristina Franklin. When I first arrived, I noticed several ladies were Pentecostals. I was so excited to see sisters in the truth. As time progress and I got acquainted with others, I met Kristina, a single mother of 2 young daughters. She said that she had received the Holy Ghost about 4 years ago. There were several of the other ladies who also shared a deep love for the Lord, but attended churches of different denominations.
One night during a Lab time at the college, I heard Kristina talking very loudly on her phone and sounding quite upset. I thought it was because she is hard of hearing herself and couldn't understand the other person she was talking too. Well, later I found out she was having some personal problems with the camp counselors concerning her two daughters who were attending their camp. The girls were missing their mom and one had tried to run away several times. The counselors were going to turn them over to child protective services at midnight that night if someone didn't come and get them. The girls' father or grandparents were not available to go and get them, so it was up to Kristina, who has night blindness and cannot see or drive at night.
My friend Sherry Padgett, asked her what the problem was and Kristina told her of the situation. Kristina was very upset and didn't know what to do. The girls were 6 hours away and it was about 6:00 pm at that time. Sherry told her that they were going right then to pick up the girls. Kristina couldn't believe her ears...Sherry was going to leave right at that moment and help her get her daughters.
The 2 of them left and began the 6 hour trip. As they were driving, Kristina began to share her story. She told Sherry that she had received the Holy Ghost. Sherry asked her how she had been baptized. Kristina told her that she had been baptized in the name of the father, and the son, and of the holy ghost. Sherry reached to her Bible and told Kristina to open it to Matt. 28:19 and read it aloud. Sherry then proceeded to ask her what that meant. She asked Kristina if father was a name, if son was a name and if holy ghost was a name. Kristina said "no". Sherry then asked Kristina if her dad went to the bank and signed a check using father or son, would the bank honor that check.. Kristina agreed that the bank would not honor such a signature. Sherry asked her to then turn to the book of Acts 2:38 and see what the disciples did to obey Matt. 28:19. Kristina began reading it out loud. At once she began to say..."I have to get baptized in Jesus name...I see it". Sherry had not even had to explain it to her. Kristina's heart was so ready and receptive for the word of God. Well, the trip continued and they picked up the girls. After leaving them with their grandparents, they returned back to classes.
Sherry asked Kristina if she wanted to travel home with her, to Kansas City for the weekend, to be baptized in Jesus name. Kristina was so excited to say "yes" and go home with Sherry for the weekend. That Sunday morning June 28, 2009 Kristina Franklin was buried in the name of Jesus. When she came back to classes, she was a new creature in Christ Jesus.
Kristina came to me on that Monday and said that she felt dirty in her clothes. I looked at her and told her she looked fine. She said, "No, this is all the clothes I have with me and I don't feel right to wear them." Not one person had told Kristina that she needed to change the way she was dressing. She felt conviction about her clothes. The next day one of the ladies took her shopping and she came back with a new wardrobe and her hair fixed so cute pulled up. She is now going to attend a UPC in Joplin, MO. Kristina is so excited about her new walk with God. Thank the Lord for women who are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ and are willing to share with those around us.
Kristina is very happy in her new church and serving the Lord Jesus with her new family in Christ. Please pray for all interpreters for the deaf that God will use us and equip us with the knowledge necessary to win the lost in the deaf community.

Greetings from New York,
We wanted to share with you our newest addition to Daughter work Church in the City of Oneida, New York. Hopefully you will be able to open the attachments I provided. The gentleman is a deaf man, Mike Fincher. He is a neighbor of the couple who are instrumental in starting the work in their City. I was asked to do outreach to Mike and his family as I Interpret for the Deaf. Mike has been coming to the services in Oneida for 1 month now and was baptized in Jesus Name this past Sunday, July 5th. We are so excited at what God is doing! He loves the Church and is amazed that he can be "set free" by the power of Jesus. (the home Church is Souls Harbor Church in Utica, New York)

She was in bad situation when God tried to tell her. Her heart was not opened for Him.She went to Baptist Church without interpreter. Her aunt, uncle, and grandfather were raised up to be UPC. She has interpreter who led her to UPC when she was curious about UPC. She quit party, drug, and smoking. It was her time for her baptism. Her pregnant daughter, 19 years old, and unborn child, got killed in car accident. She asked them to pray for her son who has brain tumor. |
Tim Dorland
He went to different church like Baptist, Mormon, and Christian but he was not satisfied with church bored him. He often missed church.
He saw a prison was next to UPC he drove by. He liked the design about UPC but he did not think about visiting church. His friend invited him to UPC where Sherry Padgett was a member. He was surprised to see members being beautiful without make up. He wanted more part of the church. He smoked cigarette for 15 years. On his birthday of Feb. 6, he was very sick with flu. He wanted to smoke on last cigarette but he spoke to God, I would quit smoking so You made me strong. He stopped smoking for good as cold turkey. Later few days, he got baptism in the name of Jesus. He has struggle with Holy Ghost because of his problem with his pride at his job that prevented him from getting Holy Ghost. He got rid of his pride so he got Holy Ghost. He found the truth in his truth so he faithfully goes to church to serve Him. Tim married Margie from Moline, IL June 20, 2009 watch thier wedding video - double click to view full screen.
